Eight years ago unimpressed with the range of cakes we were able to buy and serve to our customers we decided to create some of our own often using alcohol as a key ingredient and experimenting with exotic creations such as Malibu cake and sherry trifle.
By 2007 we had been selling our cakes at the Living North fairs for three years when a friend suggested we run her stall at Newcastle’s quayside market while they took a holiday. This gave us the opportunity to sell our own range of cupcakes ands bar cakes to a wider audience. The cupcakes received a positive reaction from customers and soon we realised we would need our own stall. Since then our cupcakes have increased in popularity and needed an identity of their own so we created the brand name Lottie McPhee’s which is a collaboration between our daughters names Charlotte (Lottie) ,Pheobe (Phee) and their grandmas middle name McLaughlin (Mc).
